The Opera Factory presents a 5pm soiree on Sunday 15 April to commemorate the 100th anniversary of the sinking of the R.M.S. ‘Titanic’.

A popular programme of songs selected from those performed on the Titanic’s tragic maiden voyage include the Glow-worm song, Maids of Cadiz, Ah, Sweet Mystery of Life, Gendarmes duet, Pipes of Pan, Land of Hope and Glory, Home Sweet Home, Burlington Bertie, La Bohème Gilbert & Sullivan favourites, The Road to Mandalay,, Automne, Alexander’s Ragtime band, Beautiful Isle of Somewhere plus popular music hall and operatic items of the day.

Professional artists include the well known singer and entertainer Terry Barry, soprano Emma Sloman, tenor Derek Hill and pianist Reg Towers. The talented company also includes emerging singers Elizabeth Mandeno, Warren Kilham, Madison Nonoa, Elisabeth Harris, Bernice Austin, Hannah Bryant, Mark Covich, pianist Gemma Lee , Leila Alexander and others.

The design team at Opera Factory will re-create the onboard experience and invite patrons to come dressed as a passenger or crew of the time. A complimentary Edwardian afternoon tea is available from 4.15pm before the concert.

The Opera Factory is situated in the heart of Newmarket at 7 Eden Street and is one minutes walk from public rail and bus links. The fringe theatre offers elevated theatre style seating or at tables on the flat floor and early reservation is recommended. The soiree will conclude at 6.30pm and is suitable for all ages.
