The ISC Lenco Half Marathon continues on around the Miramar Peninsula where it hugs the harbour shoreline, before returning to the finish line festival at Kilbirnie Park. The event is in its 14th year, with the Half Marathon option available for the fourth year running. In 2011 a record 11,100 people took part.
Live music, food stalls, spot prizes and massage tents at the finish line add to the festival atmosphere., and then free buses shuttle participants back to the City, although many people opt to walk the 7kms back around the bays, such is the beauty of the walk. The event is organized by Sport Wellington, a regional sports trust which promotes and supports sport and recreation in the Wellington region.
Returning in 2012 is AMI Insurance as principal sponsor. AMI is proud to continue their support of the AMI Round the Bays for the second year. They have a strong affinity with the communities in which they operate and a commitment to supporting Sport Wellington and the Wellington community.
