I finally got to WBC on a Saturday night, arriving shortly before seven and still managing to get a table for two upon arrival. The range of oysters is impressive and they were so good. The tapas menu and the blackboard specials were very difficult to choose between but the squid, ceviche and cheese balls were highlights. Cocktails featuring roof-top honey were real treats and the desert menu, while limited, was still difficult to decide on. WBC was so good, I returned with a colleague just three days later!

Lets start with the good - very stylish and minimalistic interior to go with the name. Perfect lighting - not too bright but ok for reading the menu. Also, upon arrival you get some complimentary nibbly things - always a nice touch. I think there were several options of these but we got the Soviet tasting crisps that are totally making a comeback:-). The menu was a tad confusing though as there was something called 'Boots'n'all' which we assumed as per the menu and some insight from the waitress included a bit of everything and was to share. Turned out it was more like 'Half a boot each' as when we asked for the fish option we just got a massive fish tail along we a couple of sides of veg to share. Part of the problem is that there's only one board where all of this is listed as the menu itself does not go into the detail of what 'Boots'n'all' entitled exactly and the waiters tend to speak very quickly. However, the food was really excellent! So totally worth the confusion! The food is definitely a 5/5. I think there were also craft beers but can't now recall what my mate was having but there had been no complaints in any case from that section:-) This is still pretty new so was cool to get a table - pays to come quite early though as if you keen enough to queue there's not much space to do that in. The queue also makes it awkward for paying as that all happens in the same space. And all of that is blocking the kitchen door.So the tip is - come early, sit in a position to read the board and you'll be fine :-)
