Coming from the UK, where Wagas was a favourite haunt, I have to say that the speed of service in Wellington leaves a lot to be desired. We have quite often ordered drinks only to see them sat on the counter for 5-10 minutes before someone decides to drop them off. I know the food can be fast, but it should never beat your drinks! We've had that happen countless times. I also think it's expensive - especially for Wellington where you've got multiple noodle bars offering dishes for 1/3-1/2 less than Wagas. But there's no noodle bar competition in this area, so they can probably justify it for that reason. Don't be surprised if some of the appetisers are off the menu - that frequently happens.

The food (once it arrives) is great tasting though. I'm a sucker for Kare Lomen and Pork Niku Dango.

I dined on a Saturday afternoon and while being shown to a table very quickly the service after that was slow. The appetizers came out in two lots with one being served after the main meals were served. The squid was delicious as was the enadamame. My meal was completely covered in a sauce which I didn't like and scraped it off the crumbed eggplant. I found the food really disappointing as was the service. I have been to Wagamama before and had a great time so I will try again.

I went for dinner with a bunch of friends at Wagamama, and it was my first time there. I really enjoyed the experience. Great food and relaxing atmosphere, lovely location, right next to the sea, watching the ferry and other boats sailing by. Also only a short walking distance to the Stadium and Wellington railway station. The food was great, I can't remember the name of my dish - but was a wonderful combination of noodles and shellfish - which I still dream about today. Everyone in my party were very happy with their meal also. Would definitely go again soon! There's something at Wagamama for everyone's taste!

Just back from London and Wagamama never dissapoints. I am a sucker for the Ginger Chicken Udon, and even have their cookbook. Still can't beat the speed of service and scrummy dishes they send out. Keep it up Wagamama, one chain I would like to see expand in N.Z

The great thing about any Wagamama around the world, they are totally the same, and all have the fastest service! Don't expect all your meals to come out at the same time, as they cook them straight as soon as the order comes through, and some meals take longer. Just enjoy the bustling atmosphere!
