While it made for an amusing read, David Burton's review of Sterling did not paint it in a great light so I really wasn't expecting much when I dined there. Arriving just after 6pm on a Friday night I expected to get a table for two without a booking but was surprised to find we were lucky to get a table - two people leaving just as I was inquiring. There were a lot of after work drinkers there. The woodfired oven produced beautiful fish and pork belly. The meals were certainly several standards above what I expected to come out whilst not too fancy. We also ordered the fat-cut crinkle chips with truffle mayo after seeing them on the table beside us. They're a must to order!
