Very rude service! Admittedly the food was average to good and had a no fuss experience getting our meal then as we were leaving the owner/manager asked where me and my friend were before we turned up. We finish at 8.30pm so we replied work then he said that we both reeked of dak! We definitely don’t smoke that stuff and had only 10 minutes ago finished work. What person in his right mind would say that especially as we were leaving? We were shocked and angry and will definitely not be going back there again.

New Years Eve in Wellington and typically leaving plans to the last minute, we thought we'd try Piccolo Restaurant out before heading into town with the revellers to see in the New Year.
We'd heard good things about Piccolo Caffe on Willis Street, and apparently it's the same owners, so we're reasonably confident the meal was going to be good - how right we were.
You'd hardly notice the place was there unless you walked past, but take my word for it - Piccolo is well worth seeking out.
I went for one of the meals on the specials board - a creamy pesto, spinach and venison sausage combination that was superb - my partner went for the ravioli which was also very good but not quite as good as my choice.
Although it looked the part, unfortunately the desert didn't quite deliver - both the tiramisu and the pavlova / ice-cream were a step down from the mains.
There's the BYO option - so walking away with a bill that came under $60 for two was most impressive indeed and kicked off a good night all round.
No doubt we'll have a few more visits planned to Piccolo Restaurant in the very near future!
