What a lovely place! Very authentic french with lovely staff. I liked the dried baguettes on the wall! Delicious ratatouille and yummy crepes and croissants. I love cafes that sell products, they had french jams and other lovely gift items for sale. and they also stocked proper Orangina! yum!

I make a point of visiting La Cloche every time I stay in Wellington. It is quite a hard place to find (look for the Animates store at the bottom of the Ngaio Gorge) and parking can be an issue, but I'm telling you - you won't get better french-cuisine in the capital.
La Cloche has the usual suspects (croissants, pan aux chocolate etc) but there's also a great menu.
Over the Easter break I had the croque monsieur - fairly pricey I thought at $17 but it was awesome!
If you've got room (and you should make some), do indulge in a treat...my pick - the lemon tart!
I seem to put on a few kgs every time I head to Wellington - I now know why!

Exceptionally good food and coffee - La Cloche (if you can find it) is one of Wellington's very best cafes. C'est magnifique!
