A mainstay of the Welly veggie collective, Aunty Mena’s is known for inexpensive, satisfying food served up in a spartan but homely café on Cuba Street. The menu features mostly Asian cuisine including Thai, Malaysian and Chinese dishes, with plenty of tofu masquerading as meat.

The culinary highlight is arguably the laksa – so refreshing you can lap it up to the last drop without getting grease on your chin. Cheap, feel-good food.
