Nice atmosphere but rubbish service and rude bar staff. My wife and I visited The Library for a drink the other Friday night, had one drink sitting at the bar, then waited, and waited for service even though the bar staff were behind the bar not doing a lot. Eventually managed to catch the barman's eye, and told him we would like two bourbons and dry, but we asked him about a bourbon they had that we had not seen before. This seemed to annoy him, but he got the bottle down for us to see, I asked him to give us two, but also asked him how much the bourbon was. He looked on the till, and could not find the price, he asked other workers and a guy who was sitting at the bar also (I assumed he must work there). But he was unable to find the price.....he then put the bottle back, and completely ignored us and served another patron....without serving us a drink. - We left.
Wont be back to The Library.
The Library is the perfect place for a catch up with friends on a cold winter's night. The cozy surroundings with comfy chairs and booths to relax in are a most welcome retreat from the harsh Wellie weather. My friend and I met there on a Wed night and opted for a delicious bottle of Spanish red which was excellent value at $44. It was two for one cocktails, which was a nice surprise. We also shared some of The Library's delicious tapas. Would really recommend this cool venue.
