Went for the breakfast this morning (Sat 26th March) at The Bruhaus and we plan on going back very soon. Food was great value, tasted wonderful (everything was fresh) and came in great time. I managed to get scrambled eggs, 2 slices of ciabatta & 4 rashers of smoky bacon for $8! So it's very reasonable and will be on our new list for breakfast every time we head down to Wellington from Hutt Valley... Also planning a 'date night' with hubby soon, as we both fancy trying it on an evening so will keep you posted with how that goes...

Experienced the worst breakfast ever there. My order of bacon and toast came as gross warmed deli ham with untoasted bread. I also ordered sausages but only got one. Had to wait over 40 minutes for it to arrive and the restaurant was not at all busy. I should have sent the plate back and walked out but I was too hungry after waiting so long. Disappointing and will not be going back.

The selection of beer and the inside atmosphere was neat but that's about it. Decided to go check it out with a group of friends because I had a discount voucher for food and drinks. Was a mistake going and ruined the night out. Problem? the placed had only just opened -and it showed! The staff were amateur and didn't seem to know what they were doing. We watched as our pizza took a tour around the whole establishment twice before it found our table (and we were right by the kitchen entrance). The menu was hidden from sight on a little blackboard and the only thing on there were two pizza choices (literally meat or vege) and two tapas. Was disappointing as to use the vouchers we had to order food with drinks. The pizza was dreadful. One of my friends remarked that it looked like the pizzas he used to make back at uni on a budget. It literally had Watties tomato sauce (I'm not kidding) on it with token meat pieces on a supermarket-brought base. I could do better! We ordered two but the second one never arrived and had to ask twice to get a new one. This one had some token herbs on it (to say sorry maybe?). The bar staff were rather frustrating too. They tended to ignore you just long enough to annoy you. An acknowledgment of some kind would be nice just to show you even care, you know? All in all, they never should have given out vouchers to bring in more people, let alone opened, if they didn't have their act together yet. They may be better now but they made a bad first impression on me and most likely on many other people too. I may go back for a drink but not anytime soon.
