One of Courtenay place’s finer establishments - more of cuisine and less of something you’d refer to as a “feed”.
Perfect place to visit if you’re going on a night out to the opera or the ballet to make the evening cultural and classy all round. Great food, very professional service.

Discovered Hummingbird while cruising looking for somewhere for dinner after a movie and was very pleasantly surprised. Small menu but really tasty, great atmosphere and the staff where all very friendly and great hosts. Loved the expresso cocktail!

Hummingbird is going through a refurbishment at the moment and unfortunately it seems to be a turn for the worst. The theme can only be described as Soho Chic meets Hutt Valley sleep out. When visited on a Saturday for lunch the only menu offered to us was the brunch menu with a stark selection. The staff while pleasant kept standing in between people who were having conversations to top up their water. The food was definitely nothing to write home about either. A bowl of fries could not even be ordered as a side dish, really?
It's like they've taken away all the charm that made Hummingbird such a Wellington staple. Lets hope once the refurbishment is done and dusted we're left with a more appealing venue.

Fantastic spot for an after work drink. Great cocktails - fantastic spicy bloody marys. Best tapas plate around.

You don't win all those for no reason, its a top shelf establishment and I get there whenever I can.
