Great hidden secret with helpful knowledgeable staff and a wide range of both local and international brews. Not one for a sunny day given the underground, basement feel but an enjoyable visit any other time.

Hashigo zake has long been one of my favourite wellington bars and probably one of the very first venues to raise the profile of craft beers in the capital.
It's underground and a little dark but an absolute haven for craft beer fans. Huge range of beers on offer from, mostly ( maybe all) New Zealand drops. Particular favourites include the renaissance and liberty but you could spend weeks sampling the ever evolving brew menu.
Snack food at hashigo zake is also well worth sampling- plus,MIT gives you an excuse to spend longer there.
