I loved Sione’s Wedding 2. I often find New Zealand films a breath of fresh air after having watched a lot of international films. I love the humour, in-jokes, colloquial language and even a pot shot at a well-known NZ religious person. I found myself laughing out-loud with the rest of the cinema throughout the entire movie.

Having lived in Auckland all my life the comments about Glenfield (G’Field) and K’Road etc. just make me smile. I love being able to recognise local landmarks; which I suppose American’s do when they watch movies filmed in their cities.

I was completely blind-sided by the unforeseen circumstances that bring the Duckrockers back together. However, the poignant scenes were still handled with respect and diplomacy and even brought tears to my eyes.

I have seen a lot of the core cast in other television shows and live theatre and they definitely have the capacity for more humour. Could there have been funnier bits, definitely. But given the content I do not know how it could have been pulled off.

I think it is definitely worth seeing; although I wish I had watched Sione’s Wedding 1 first.

I was really disappointed with Sione's 2. I was so looking forward to seeing it and I hardly laughed. Wouldn't suggest you waste your money seeing it on the big screen - wait til you can rent the DVD for $1!

This movie was funny and fresh. The cast are just as good as the last time around. Funny enough but I don't think I'd see it again.
