As someone said to me - 'this is if you REALLY like fantasy'. And sure enough it was all dragons, knights, witches, magic and a love story to go with it. What more do you want?

Cast included the awesome Jeff Bridges who has an interesting speech impediment here which makes him a bit hard to understand but I wouldn't hold it against him. Julianna Moore looks great as the evil queen.

The film is quite good looking - loved the attention to detail of the props, interiors and costumes and the creature work was also great. The story line and dialogue could have been better but was not too poor either.

Strangely, this was directed by Russian director Sergey Bodrov known for a few cult hits in Russia and who started on a Hollywood path recently.

On the whole not a bad film but it's not likely to become a classic. Truly is only for people who are into the genre. But as a fantasy fan I'm giving it a 4/5.
